Why hire us to paint your Edinburgh home?

Wall Coating Scotland are experts in all things relating to exterior wall and house painting, coating and external rendering methods including roughcasting, thermal wall coatings, smooth k-render, pebble dashing or harling. The outside of your house says a lot about how much pride you take in your property and freshly painted walls provide a fresh, positive impression to any visitors.

In terms of aesthetics, it’s very easy to recognise a house that has been painted with high-quality and long lasting  masonry painting products or thermal wall coatings.

We have a team of experienced painters who are specialists in exterior painting and who only ever use our high-quality paint and materials which is paramount to high standards we produce. You will feel a sense of pride when our work is complete, all of our exterior painters get strong feedback on a regular basis from our Edinburgh customers.

Is paint and protective wall coating the same thing?

This is a question we get asked a lot, protective wall coating is completely different from traditional masonry paint. Masonry paint is more suited to diy’ers or people on a limited budget as it costs less and can be applied easily with brush or roller, however, protective wall coating is a robust durable material that is guaranteed for a minimum of 10 years and is professionally sprayed on for a perfect finish.

Benefits of Coating

  • Guaranteed for 10 years
  • Superhydrophobic – means it will repel water
  • Improves thermal efficiency of any property it is applied too
  • Improves the appearance of old tired looking buildings
  • Self-cleaning, dirt etc will bead and run off your walls when it rains
  • Cheaper than re-roughcasting and lasts longer than paint

Amazing transformation on to the outside of this house that we painted in Edinburgh, before the painting began we cleansed the walls with anti-fungal wash removing all dirt, moss, lichen and debris. After allowing the walls to dry properly we then applied two even coats of proPERLA Wall Coatings. Please see the customers feedback below:

Wall Coating completely transformed the look of the outside of the house. Looks like new. The workmen worked very well and even covered he garden plants so they did not get splashed. No problems in recommending the company.

    Painting Costs, Preparation & Availability

If you would like to use a company who treat your home as if it was their own then please call 0330 460 9896 and we can start a dialogue. Although we can’t give an accurate price until we have visited your property we can still take some basic information such as the type and size of the house you live in and rough dimensions if you know them. This means we can provide you with a rough idea of costs on the telephone so there are no surprises when we provide you with an accurate quote after your home survey. If possible, if you can give us a rough measurement of your homes square metre dimensions we will try can give you a ballpark figure on the phone before we arrange the survey. We would love to be transparent with our exterior painting prices and give a “FROM” price per square metre of area painted, unfortunately, we are in a very competitive industry so posting prices online will likely harm our business.  All our quotes given after we have completed your free home survey are deadly accurate, with only less than 1% changing due to installation needs or other change of circumstances.

Like all other exterior house renovation, when applying masonry paint preparation is key. We start by power washing the surface of your walls and then begin cleansing the wall of any old paint, dirt, moss, lichen or debris. For optimum results, the application of the paint needs to timed well, ensuring the walls are smooth and dry and then applying coats evenly is crucial. This is the fundamental for exterior paint preparation, it may sound basic however it’s fairly easy to get it wrong.

    Edinburgh Facts

    1. Edinburgh is Scotland’s capital city with a population of around 482,000 people living there. This is a pretty obvious and common fact but did you know that the capital of Scotland used to be Scone (a village in Perth & Kinross) until Edinburgh replaced it back in the 15th century.
    2. J’K Rowling wrote most of the Harry Potter books whilst living in Edinburgh, with many of the sets of the blockbuster movies also filmed in the city including Victoria Street and Grey Friars Kirkyard.
    3. Something a little more relevant to the wall coating and roughcasting service we provide! Did you know that over 75% of the buildings in Edinburgh are listed, making Edinburgh home to the most listed buildings located in Scotland.
    4. A rather surprising fact for anyone who is not a local is that Edinburgh has the most tree’s per capita than any other UK city making it the UK’s greenest city.
    5. Edinburgh’s famous Royal Mile is not actually a mile long! Yep you heard it, the Royal Mile is actually only around 98 metres long, quite a bit short of a mile!
